Although created and sold for children, Baby Face dolls gained a place in the hearts of adult collectors from the very beginning and have maintained thier popularity with both young and old to this very day. Their wonderfully expressive little faces are so very hard to resist! As well as thieir captivating faces, the Baby Face dolls are made of very high quality, heavy weight vinyl. They are a true strung dolls and jointed at elbows, shoulder, hips and knees which enable them to be posed in many ways. They have large inset eyes and applied lashes.
There were 16 dolls in the first year, made from the first ten molds and which included 6 black dolls. First year dolls had a hot pink Baby Face tattoo on their bottoms. In the second year there were 12 new dolls introduced. Six of them were from four new molds including Hispanic and Asian ethnic dolls. The other six were redone from first year molds.
Second year also introduced the so called Bathtub Baby Face Babies. They did not have the jointed elbows or knees. Their fingers are lightly curled toward the palm of thier hands and they have a more natural foot shape without the completely flat sole. Plus they have a colorful heat activated, screened-on undershirt on the upper torso. There were eight Bathtub Babies from 5 different molds, which included four black dolls. Second year dolls all have a purple Baby Face tattoo on their bums.
